Tax Preparer / Accounting AssociateJob DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Preparer / Accounting Associate to join our growing public accounting firm. This position focuses on preparing individual and business tax returns while providing bookkeeping and accounting support for a diverse client base.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare federal and state tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120-S, 1041, and 990.Gather, organize, and verify client tax documentation.
Perform bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and journal entries using QuickBooks.
Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
Communicate directly with clients regarding tax information and filings.
Assist with tax planning, estimated taxes, and year-end preparation.
Research basic tax issues and ensure compliance.
Respond to IRS and state tax notices.
Manage multiple client deadlines.
Support accountants and CPAs with additional projects.
QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.1-3+ years of tax preparation, bookkeeping, or public accounting experience preferred.
Experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
Knowledge of QuickBooks and professional tax software.
Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
