In this vital role, you will manage accurate bookkeeping processes, prepare tax returns, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help keep our financial records precise and up-to-date for our small business clients, supporting the organization's growth and stability. Duties Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks. Perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data integrity Process payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately Prepare and review journal entries in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Assist with budgeting, financial report writing, and general ledger accounting to support organizational planning Conduct account reconciliation activities including bank reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation Prepare tax returns for individuals, small businesses, and non-profit organizations while ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations Requirements Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in accounting roles with a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, or similar platforms Solid knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, GAAP standards, and account analysis Experience with payroll processing and managing accounts payable/receivable workflows Ability to work independently with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating across teams Xero certified advisor and/or QBO Pro-advisor designations are a plus.
