About the Firm We're a growing tax preparation and planning practice serving individuals and small businesses in the Philadelphia suburbs. We combine hands-on tax expertise with a broader financial planning perspective, giving clients a level of service that goes beyond just filing returns. Position Summary We're looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our team. You'll be responsible for preparing accurate individual and business tax returns, communicating with clients to gather documentation, and identifying planning opportunities that connect tax strategies to clients' broader financial picture. Responsibilities Prepare and review individual (1040) and business tax returns (1120, 1120S, 1065) Conduct client intake interviews to gather relevant financial and tax information Research tax law issues and stay current on federal and state tax code changes Identify deductions, credits, and planning opportunities to minimize client tax liability Communicate clearly with clients regarding documentation needs, return status, and outstanding questions Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and filing deadlines Collaborate with the planning team to flag planning opportunities (retirement contributions, equity compensation, charitable giving, etc.) Maintain organized, accurate client files and documentation Qualifications 2+ years of professional tax preparation experience (public accounting or tax prep firm preferred) Active PTIN required; EA, CPA, or working toward credential a strong plus Proficiency with professional tax software (e.g., Drake, UltraTax, ProSeries, or similar) Strong understanding of individual and small business tax law Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong client-facing communication skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines during peak season Preferred (Not Required) Experience with equity compensation (RSUs, ISOs, NSOs, ESPPs) Familiarity with financial planning concepts Bilingual candidates welcome
Pay:
$15.00 - $50.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 40.0 per week
