Houston, TX — in-office (No Remote) About the Role Our tax preparation and IRS tax resolution office is looking for a dependable, organized part-time Office Assistant. This is a support role — you'll help keep our client cases moving by making calls, gathering documents, and keeping our files and system up to date. No tax experience is required. We will train you. What matters most is that you're reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable talking with clients on the phone, meeting with them as necessary. Responsibilities Make and answer client phone calls, and follow up until you get what's needed Provide friendly, professional customer service to clients Contact clients and third parties to obtain tax returns, transcripts, and documents Follow up with clients to collect IRS resolution documents (bank statements, pay stubs, expense records, etc.) Enter client information into our tax software accurately Upload IRS notices and update client records in our CRM Organize and assemble client files so cases are ready for review Assist clients with making estimated tax payments as needed Run occasional local errands (bank, post office, office supplies) Provide general office support as needed With time and training, you may also assist with light tax preparation work under supervision. Qualifications Reliable and punctual — you show up and follow through Strong attention to detail, especially with numbers and dates Comfortable making repeated follow-up calls without dropping the ball Professional phone manner Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software Able to handle confidential client information appropriately Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for errands) High school diploma or equivalent Preferred (Not Required) Previous office, front desk, receptionist, or customer service experience Any exposure to tax preparation, bookkeeping, or IRS notices Bilingual English/Spanish Why Work With Us Daytime hours in a professional office — no nights or weekends Room to grow into light tax preparation, with pay increases as you take on more responsibility Small team where your work makes a visible difference No experience required- training provided To apply: Email resume
