Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tax Preparer/Administrative Assistant to join our wealth management and tax practice. This role combines tax preparation, client service, wealth management support, and general administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong tax and finance experience, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing client needs and office operations. Responsibilities Tax & Accounting Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns using tax preparation software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws. Manage client communication by gathering necessary financial documents, explaining tax concepts clearly, and addressing inquiries professionally. Maintain organized records of tax documents, reports, and client files. Assist with bookkeeping tasks including data entry, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting using accounting software such as Xero, Wave, and QuickBooks. Assist with tax notices, estimated tax payments, and other tax-related client requests. Wealth Management Support Assist with day-to-day administrative and operational tasks related to client investment accounts. Help prepare and organize client paperwork for account openings, transfers, contributions, withdrawals, and other account transactions. Coordinate with custodians such as Charles Schwab and other financial institutions to obtain account information and resolve administrative issues. Assist with gathering and organizing financial information used in client financial planning and investment reviews. Maintain accurate client records and assist with compliance and documentation requirements. Provide general administrative support to the wealth management team as needed. Qualifications Experience in tax preparation Prior experience with TaxAct is a plus. Strong knowledge of tax law, tax reporting procedures, and familiarity with tax preparation software. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly with financial information, calculations, and data entry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain financial and tax concepts clearly. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy. Comfortable working with technology and learning new financial, tax, and CRM software. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively identify and resolve issues.
