Full Job Description Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Float Bank Teller is to warmly greet customers, deliver exceptional service, accurately process transactions, and always maintain professionalism and effective communication with both customers and colleagues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Note:
The following duties are not exhaustive and may be subject to change. Adhere to established policies and procedures. Greet and assist customers in a courteous and efficient manner. Ensure confidentiality of customer and bank information. Proficiency in the use of a keyboard required. Accurately interpret and apply instructions, policies, and procedures. Utilize mathematical skills to handle transactions accurately (addition, subtraction, multiplication, etc.). Ensure exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all job functions. Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and related transactions, verifying necessary information. Follow Planters Bank policies regarding holds on accounts and fraud prevention. Operate office machinery (coin counters, currency counters, etc.) with precision. Maintain accurate cash drawer levels and safeguard cash at all times. Answer customer inquiries and use opportunities to cross-sell products and services. Process mail deposits, loan deposits, and night depository transactions. Assist with the scanning and processing of work-related documents. Issue cashier's checks, credit card cash advances, and other bank products as required. Demonstrate product knowledge and refer customers to appropriate services. Maintain a secure and safe working environment for both customers and colleagues. Be flexible, serving as a backup CSR when needed. Participate in rotating Saturday shifts. Comply with all applicable federal and state banking laws, regulations, and rules. Always treat all colleagues and customers with respect and professionalism. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education is a plus. Previous banking or cash handling experience is preferred. Ability to perform over-the-counter customer services with attention to detail. Strong judgment, courtesy, patience, and interpersonal skills required. Proficiency in computer use and familiarity with teller systems.
Physical Demands:
Ability to talk, hear, and maintain a positive attitude, even in challenging situations. Ability to stand, sit, and reach; occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds (e.g., coin bags). Must be able to use a swivel chair, requiring reaching up to 17 inches for tasks. Must be able to climb step ladder to reach lock boxes. Specific vision abilities include close vision.
