Full Job Description Teller/Customer Service Representative Job Description Reports To:
Branch Manager Skills Required:
Excellent customer service and communication skills required. Must be able to perform all over-the-counter customer services. Must exercise accuracy, alertness, good judgment, courtesy, tact, and patience, while maintaining confidentiality of the Bank's records and customer transactions. Must have the ability to develop an understanding of and promote all of the Bank's products. Must be able to organize and handle multiple tasks.
Job Summary:
Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly services to customers, involving receipt and payment of cash, and to recognize customers needs with suggestions appropriate to the Bank's services. Follows the established policies and procedures for this area, in accordance with the Bank and the supervisor's direction. Has knowledge of and meets requirements of Bank regulations as they apply to the Bank's products and customers.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Greets and serves customers in a friendly and courteous manner. This includes smiling, establishing eye contact, expressing a desire to help and using a friendly tone of voice. Performs a variety of duties to support the functioning of the Bank including but not limited to the following: Accepts checks for cashing within approved authority while checking for fraud; receives checking and related accounts; accepts deposits; verifies cash and endorsements; makes change; and issues receipts. Receives savings deposits and pays withdrawals after verifying balance and signature. Accepts loan payments. Explains various services available and assists customers in selecting these services. Opens various types of new accounts and verifies and processes changes to existing accounts. Processes customer check orders. Performs various balancing functions, including ATM and does so accurately and efficiently on a daily basis. Processes night deposits and mail deposits. Responds to customer inquiries as appropriate in a timely manner. Maintains proper cash level in cash drawer, keeps cash secure, and maintains a high level of safety for the Bank. Services the ATM according to schedule or need. Opens and closes safety deposit boxes. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness of the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements. Assist the BSA Officer by monitoring suspicious activities and reporting same; complete CTRs; and complete CIP required documents. Strictly follows requirements of audit and compliance. Responds to customer telephone and in person inquiries and resolves any issues. Performs research as necessary in response to inquiries or to resolve problems. Opens new customer deposit accounts in accordance with established procedure.
