Full Job Description Teller:
Accurately and efficiently process and record routine transactions for bank customers including, but not limited to, cashing checks, accepting deposits and withdrawals, processing loan payments and issuing money orders and bank checks. Manage risk in every transaction (DAMPER) and detect fraudulent transactions to prevent loss. Balance currency, cash and checks in cash drawer at end of each shift and properly secure/lock up cash for the day. Ensure the proper use and legibility of teller stamp on all processed items, scan checks and review images to ensure image quality is sufficient before submission of items and scan work multiple times throughout the course of the day. Maintain proper supply of cash and currency, this includes managing proper teller cash drawer limits, as set by senior management, at all times. Perform dual control procedures with attention to detail and without interruption as they relate to daily ATM settlement, night drop bag processing and commercial deposits processing. Stay abreast of bank compliance regulations and Bank Secrecy Act guidelines and properly log applicable transactions in BSA log book daily. Notify platform personnel of CTR processing if applicable. Answer customer inquiries in a professional and pleasant manner regarding checking and savings balances and any other product or service questions, and attempt to resolve issues and problems with customer's accounts in a timely manner, while pulling in other bank personnel when appropriate. Know and follow bank Safe Deposit Box rules and regulations and assist customers in the entry and exit of their boxes. Process and appropriately record safe deposit box payments. Acknowledge customer's presence by saying hello and welcoming them to step up to your window. Engage customer to build rapport and cross sell/promote bank products by asking questions regarding their needs and inform them on new services or product promotions. Identify possible sale opportunities and strive for a weekly minimum of teller tags to forward to the Platform. Meet Customer Service standards as set forth by Region Leader and Manager. Perform the following transactions and/or service call requests: 1. Assist customers thru OLB password resets, OLB enrolls and Mobile banking enrolls—properly complete OLB maintenance forms as necessary. 2. Place check orders (with an existing order history only—not new r'ship orders) 3. Open and close CD's and process CD validations (existing customers only) 4. Open and close Personal checking & savings accounts (existing customers only) 5. Safe Deposit Box entry, handling delinquent boxes, processing monthly payments 6. Stop Payment processing 7. Returns / OD reports 8. Restricted Debit Card report 9. Process incoming mail and mailing of commercial receipts 10. Deposit discrepancy letters 11. Preparation of bank checks (Manager/banker to review and sign check themselves) Meet expectations relating to attendance, punctuality and scheduling. All teller staff will share all shifts, including AM and PM opening and closing shifts and at any time a teller may be moved from office to office as is needed. Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations by keeping customer information confidential--at no time are cell phones to be on your possession when behind teller line. Meet expectations relating to personal hygiene, personal appearance and follow the bank's dress code at all times without deviation. Participate in daily teller AM meetings to garner focus on branch goals, new/updated bank policy, and bank operations. Maintain an organized and clean work space, this include performing daily/weekly general maintenance duties as assigned by Branch Manager, Assistant Manager or Relationship Banker including, but not limited to, wiping down/cleaning ATM machine, wiping down/cleaning drive thru window, watering plants, shredding paper, vacuuming carpet. Perform as a team member of the bank as a whole and assist with, or in, other duties as assigned.
