At Democracy Federal Credit Union, we are committed to empowering our members and strengthening our communities. As a Bank Teller, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service, assisting with everyday financial transactions, and helping members reach their financial goals.
Position Summary:
The Bank Teller is responsible for accurately processing member transactions, opening and maintaining accounts, and educating members on credit union products and services. This role requires strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering excellent service while following established procedures and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Member Service & Transactions Greet and welcome members in a friendly, professional, and timely manner. Perform teller transactions—deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers—with accuracy and efficiency. Maintain thorough knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, and security protocols, including robbery procedures. Resolve member inquiries and account issues through research and problem-solving. Account Support & Product Knowledge Open new accounts and verify accuracy and compliance with credit union guidelines. Cross-sell credit union products and services based on member needs. Ensure work station is fully stocked with forms, brochures, and supplies. Teamwork & Operations Collaborate with colleagues to maintain smooth and efficient branch operations. Adapt to new technologies, processes, and evolving regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as assigned to support branch and member service excellence.
Qualifications:
Skills & Competencies Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Good judgment, problem-solving abilities, and professionalism. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. Symitar experience preferred. Knowledge of teller and member service procedures and compliance regulations (BSA, CIP, U.S. Patriot Act, FACT Act).
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. At least 2 years of cash-handling experience. At least 1 year of credit union or banking experience. Minimum 6 months of experience processing basic financial transactions. Strong math and typing skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform essential job duties safely and successfully in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and all applicable standards. Regular and punctual attendance required. Ability to perform fine motor tasks such as typing and handling small objects. Primarily sedentary work with frequent standing or sitting. #IND3

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
