Accurately handle customers' transactions including withdrawals, deposits, payments, and other transactions. Address customer inquiries and promote bank products and services. Maintain accurate records, balance cash drawers, and ensure a secure and efficient banking environment in adherence to NSB policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. Willingness to learn and ability to understand all products and services.Duties/Responsibilities:
Cash Handling- Balance cash for teller drawer
- Balance cash for vault
- Verify all cash coming in to and out of cash drawer
- Verify all coin using coin counting machine when necessary
- Receive and disburse foreign cash; accurately calculating exchange rate
- Prepare cash orders/shipment keeping cash limits in mind
Transaction Processing:
Accurately process teller transaction through the Teller Capture program (including, but not limited to)- Consumer and commercial deposits
- Check cashing
- Withdrawals
- Cash advances
- Loan payments/advances/payoffs
- Safe deposit box
- Bond redemption
- Canadian check processing
- Official check processing
- Close out accounts
- IRA transactions
- Night drop/mail transaction processing
- Customer change orders
Customer Service:
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and answering questions regarding banks products and services.- Acknowledge and greet customer
- Answering incoming telephone calls and email communications and direct to appropriate personnel for answers to only the most complex problems or inquiries.
- Completely follow through on all transactions, activities and communications.
- Promote all bank products and services
- Customer account reconciliation, upon request
- Process customer check orders
- Process the following transactions: Stop Payments Holds AFT/EFT
- WSUDs
- Sweeps
- Wires
- (not in the Main Lobby Teller line or Auto Bank)
- Complete fraud procedures
- Debit cards inquiries, including limit changes and disputes (start EFT error investigation report)
Digital Banking:
enrollment, alerts, Bill Pay, e-Statements, remote deposit, stop payments, transfers, Zelle, and other servicesBanno:
support and unlock account- Open bank accounts for customers following account opening policies and procedures
- Checking, Savings, CD, Safe Deposit Box
- Notarize documents, if licensed
- Records research for customers
- Complete file maintenance forms and update the core system
Operational:
Performs other duties as assigned which may include but are not limited to:- Follow security protocol for opening and closing bank
- Provide teller staffing coverage at other locations when needed
- Filing of documents, including account authorization forms
- Shredding of confidential items
- Pick up and drop off mail at USPS
- Safe keeping agreement and night drop keys (all branches except Main Branch)
- Light housekeeping, maintenance, and seasonal decorating
- Bulletin board updates
- Clean and maintain equipment
Software:
banks specific database, excel, word, Outlook- Follow retention schedule
Ashland Main Lobby Teller Additional Responsibilities:
- Statement stuffing (and end of year tax documents)
- Use check printer/stitcher/cutter. Order check supplies, etc. Monthly reports.
- Reconcile money orders/cashier's checks, loan checks, etc.
- Asset verification online program
- Social Security Administration online verification program
- Authorized signer to issue checks for the Brick Account. Write checks/balance checkbooks.
- Backup for Customer Service & Accounts Payable.
- Medallion stamp
Ashland Auto Bank Teller Additional Responsibilities:
- Balance and maintain ATM cash supply
Washburn Teller Additional Responsibilities:
- Debit card maintenance/disputes through CPS portal

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Experience working as a teller, retail sales, or customer service position preferred, but not required.
