full-time We are partnering with a rapidly growing, private equity backed organization in Birmingham that is looking to add an Assistant Controller to its accounting team. This is a newly created position driven by growth and continued acquisition activity. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA who wants to move into a hands on industry role with significant visibility and room for continued advancement. You'll work directly with the Controller and play a key role in month end close, financial reporting, technical accounting, controls, and multi entity accounting as the organization continues to scale. What You'll Do Take ownership of significant portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process Prepare financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules Ensure financial reporting is accurate and GAAP compliant Assist with multi entity accounting and consolidations Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting Oversee project cost accounting and WIP schedules Help develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Support cash management and cash flow forecasting Work with external auditors and tax providers Help improve accounting systems and processes as the company grows Take on additional responsibilities and special projects in a lean, entrepreneurial environment What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance CPA required Public accounting audit experience strongly preferred Strong GAAP and technical accounting knowledge Advanced Excel skills Strong month end close and financial reporting experience Self motivated and comfortable working in a small, hands on accounting team Ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapidly growing environment Why Consider It?
