Job Description
Interim Controller (Birmingham, AL) | $55-65/hr Overview Our client is seeking an Interim Controller to lead core accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain strong internal controls during a transition period. This role reports to the CFO and partners closely with cross-functional leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly close and prepare GAAP financial statements.
- Manage budgeting updates, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee AP/AR, cash application, and working capital processes.
- Maintain financial systems and drive process improvements and automation.
- Partner with leadership on financial insights and operational decision support.
- Lead and support the accounting team as needed during the interim period. Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong GAAP, financial analysis, and ERP system skills.
- Hands-on experience with internal controls, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and able to step in quickly.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
