The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with expertise in property management financial software and compliance standards. Responsibilities Gather financial data and ledgers for preparation of monthly financial statements Analysis of financial statements and results for property management executives, property owners, and investors Approval of property expenditures Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings Manage periodic reporting Prepares annual audit work papers for submission to outside audit firms Communicates and works with all auditing firms for the property ownership groups Year-end corporate tax planning Manage all corporate, payroll, and property management trust accounts Supervise current accounting staff of 5 Hands on and is expected to assist where necessary and cover the accounting team when needed Proficient in all areas of property management accounting Skills Proven experience as a Controller Organizational and leadership skills Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and practices Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and finance software An analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude Excellent communication skills Keen eye for detail Experience/Education Property Management experience is required, LIHTC is a plus ResMan knowledge recommended BSc/BA/Master's in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA recommended
