We create innovative, walkable environments that bring people together to live, work, and play. We're seeking a Controller to lead our accounting team and oversee the financial operations across a diverse and growing portfolio of businesses and properties. What You'll Do Lead, mentor, and develop a 4-person accounting team, fostering collaboration and professional growth Oversee financial reporting, cash flow management, and tax compliance for multiple entities, including construction, property management, restaurants, and other businesses Partner with the CFO on strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and growth initiatives Manage payroll, benefits, audits, and vendor/lease payments across all entities Ensure accuracy in financial reporting, job costing, and regulatory filings Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and vendors What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred; MBA a plus) 7-10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 5 in senior roles (Controller, Director of Finance, or CFO) Experience overseeing multi-entity or multi-location operations Strong understanding of GAAP, IRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards Background in real estate, construction, hospitality, or family-owned businesses is a plus Proven leadership skills, high integrity, and the ability to build trust across a team and organization Why Join Us This isn't a typical Controller role.
