Job Description
Overview Financial Controller - Manufacturing We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Financial Controller to join a well-established manufacturing company. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the company's accounting and financial operations while working closely with ownership and management to control costs, improve efficiencies, and increase profitability . We are looking for someone who goes beyond preparing financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background and the analytical ability to dig into company spending, identify where money is being lost or overspent, and develop practical cost-saving strategies that produce measurable results. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, inventory, and month-end/year-end close. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow projections. Analyze company-wide spending and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve profitability. Review material, labor, overtime, overhead, freight, utilities, vendor, and other operating costs for potential savings. Analyze manufacturing costs, margins, variances, inventory, scrap, waste, and operational inefficiencies. Evaluate vendor pricing, purchasing practices, contracts, and payment terms to identify cost-saving opportunities. Work closely with operations and management to develop and implement cost-control initiatives. Analyze profitability by product, customer, job, or business segment. Establish and monitor KPIs related to labor efficiency, production costs, margins, inventory, and overall financial performance. Develop budgets and hold departments accountable for spending and financial performance. Evaluate capital expenditures and major purchases using ROI and payback analysis. Provide ownership with actionable financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic business decisions. Track cost-saving initiatives and quantify the actual savings and financial impact achieved .
