Job Description

Job DescriptionJob Description Position Summary The Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations of an established manufacturing company with over $150 million in annual revenue. This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy, consistency, and discipline in financial processes, with a strong focus on cost accounting and inventory management. The ideal candidate brings a balance of hands-on technical expertise and operational partnership, with the ability to enhance visibility into margins, costs, and production performance. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Oversight Lead and manage all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cost accounting Supervise and develop accounting staff, fostering a high-performance team environment Maintain accurate and timely monthly and annual financial close processes Financial Reporting & Compliance Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations Coordinate and manage the external audits process Review and improve close timelines, reconciliation processes and variance analysis Manufacturing & Cost Accounting Build out cost accounting processes Review all aspects of inventory accounting, including Raw materials, finished goods, Cycle counts, Physical inventory and absorption costing Analyze production costs, labor, and overhead to identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities Partner with operations to improve margins and optimize manufacturing processes Strategic Support Provide financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership Support business growth initiatives Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency Qualifications Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required Master's degree (MBA or related) is a plus Experience 7-10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience Prior experience in a manufacturing environment required Background in cost accounting and inventory management Previous leadership or supervisory experience required Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Proficiency with ERP systems and financial software (manufacturing systems preferred) Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Strong team management abilities Effective communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Work Environment & Expectations Hands-on leadership role in a mid-sized manufacturing company Collaborative work with operations, supply chain, and executive teams Ability to manage deadlines and adapt in a dynamic business environment Compensation & Benefits (optional to include) Competitive salary (commensurate with experience) Comprehensive benefits package (health, retirement, PTO, etc.)
