VP of Finance Controller Position Overvie w The Assistant Controller will play a key role in supporting financial planning, reporting, and operational analysis. This position partners closely with cross-functional teams including distribution, production, manufacturing, and sales to provide insights that drive performance and profitability . Key Responsibilities Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries, inventory valuation, accruals, variance analysis, and reconciliation support Prepare Monthly Consolidations Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, highlighting key trends, profitability, and performance drivers Conduct operational and business analysis to support shipping operations and improve visibility Analyze gross margin, pricing, and product profitability across categories and channels Support inventory analysis, including turnover, aging, and reserve recommendations Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements Ensure data accuracy and maintain financial reporting tools and systems Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field Active CPA certification or CPA candidate 5+ years of experience in Accounting and a role involving financial accounting, preferably in apparel, retail, or consumer goods Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles Experience supporting month-end close and working with large datasets Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling) Experience with SQL and/or BI tools is a plus Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
