Job Description:
We are assisting our client in hiring a hands-on, highly collaborative Vice President of Accounting to architect and scale the accounting, treasury, and finance operations function of a global real estate operator. This role is suited for a self-starting accounting leader who thrives in lean, multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional environments and brings both strategic vision and operational discipline.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Lead and support a growing finance and accounting function, fostering collaboration, process improvement, and operational excellence. Oversee financial reporting, consolidations, and general accounting activities across multiple entities and regions. Support compliance with financing agreements, internal policies, and external reporting requirements. Manage accounting operations related to fixed assets, capital projects, and general ledger activities. Coordinate external audits and maintain effective internal controls and financial processes. Assist with cash management, banking relationships, and overall treasury operations. Partner with internal teams on payroll, benefits administration, and insurance-related activities. Oversee lease accounting and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements. Coordinate tax compliance activities and collaborate with external advisors on various tax matters. Drive process improvements, systems optimization, automation initiatives, and scalable operational practices. Serve as a liaison with external partners, consultants, and professional service providers as needed.
Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive accounting, finance, or operational finance experience, including leadership responsibilities within complex or multi-entity organizations. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, compliance, and audit processes. Experience working with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and process automation technologies. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and support organizational growth. Experience in fast-paced or evolving industries is preferred. CPA or public accounting experience are a plus, but not required.
