Controller

Chip 1 Exchange USA is a global independent distributor of electronic components, semiconductors, and integrated circuits. We're looking for a sharp, hands-on Controller to own all aspects of corporate accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for our California headquarters — working directly with the COO in a high-visibility, high-impact role.

THE ROLE

You'll be the financial backbone of the organization — running the accounting function from close to compliance, turning numbers into insight, and ensuring our financial house is always in order. This isn't a seat-warmer position; the Controller at Chip 1 is a strategic partner to leadership.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Financial Reporting & Accounting Full-cycle accounting: AP, AR, GL, payroll, and bank reconciliations Timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (U.S. GAAP) Own the month-end and year-end close process Planning, Analysis & Strategy Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis Build financial models and dashboards that drive executive decisions Monitor KPIs and translate financial data into clear business recommendations Controls, Compliance & Cash Design and maintain internal controls; coordinate external audits Manage federal, state, and California-specific tax compliance including sales tax filings Oversee cash flow, banking relationships, and line-of-credit management Team & Systems Lead and develop the accounting team; own ERP / accounting system performance Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 7-10

years of progressive accounting and finance experience 3-5 years as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior finance leader Active California CPA license strongly preferred Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and California tax regulations Strong communicator who can translate financials for non-finance audiences Electronics distribution or tech sector experience is a plus

Education:

Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance required; MBA a plus. CPA strongly preferred.
