Senior Finance Leader Transportation & Distribution | Ontario, CA | Onsite About the Company We are a staffing and workforce solutions company supporting transportation, logistics, distribution, and related operations. Our business manages a large nationwide employee workforce and a diverse client base, requiring strong financial discipline, operational insight, and working-capital management. Position Summary The Finance Leader will serve as the senior financial leader for the transportation and distribution business, driving profitability, financial discipline, scalable processes, and operational transparency. This role partners closely with Operations, Sales, and Corporate Finance to improve margins, pricing, billing, cash flow, and overall financial performance. The ideal candidate combines strong operational finance experience with commercial judgment and experience in transportation, logistics, warehousing, staffing, or other asset-heavy businesses. Key Responsibilities Lead finance operations, FP&A, General Ledger, billing, revenue assurance, and financial reporting. Drive profitability and margin accountability by client, facility, lane, and service. Establish pricing and deal-economics discipline. Improve billing accuracy, collections, and cash flow while eliminating revenue leakage. Reduce manual processes through automation and improved systems. Manage finance staffing and productivity as the business scales. Oversee payroll tax return processes and support tax audits. Manage relationships with factoring companies, funding sources, and asset-based lenders. Provide financial analysis and recommendations regarding unprofitable clients or services. Partner with Corporate Finance on consolidation, risk, and capital planning. Serve as an independent financial voice to Operations and Sales. Key Qualifications 10-15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience. Experience in staffing, 3PL, transportation, logistics, warehousing, distribution, or another asset-heavy environment . Experience managing approximately 15-20 accounts/business relationships with $200M+ in revenue preferred. Strong experience with pricing, margin management, FP&A, billing, and revenue assurance. Experience with General Ledger, staffing/labor economics, payroll taxes, and tax audits. Experience with factoring, funding companies, asset-based lending, or working-capital financing . Experience managing financial operations supporting a large employee workforce . Experience scaling finance operations while improving efficiency and reducing cost per dollar of revenue. CPA is preferred but not required . Multi-site transportation and warehousing experience is highly desirable. Leadership Profile The successful candidate is commercially minded, analytical, operationally engaged, and comfortable challenging decisions that do not make economic sense.
