Job Description

We are partnering with a growing, privately held organization in the Pasadena area to identify an experienced Controller / Assistant Controller. This is a newly created position driven by continued growth and increasing complexity within the business.

This individual will play a key leadership role within the accounting organization, overseeing day-to-day accounting activities while partnering closely with senior finance and operational leadership. The position offers a strong combination of technical accounting, team leadership, multi-entity accounting, financial reporting, process improvement, and business partnership.

The ideal candidate is someone who can operate at both a strategic and hands-on level and enjoys improving processes while developing a strong accounting team.
Assistant Controller/Controller Responsibilities:
Lead key aspects of the monthly and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Oversee accounting activities across multiple legal entities and operating units.

Manage intercompany activity, including reconciliations, allocations, eliminations, and related reporting.

Review general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

Support the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.Partner with operational leadership to analyze financial performance, costs, profitability, and business trends.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and management reporting.

Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes as the organization continues to grow.

Support external audit requirements, tax compliance activities, and other financial reporting requests.

Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team while establishing clear expectations and accountability.

Identify opportunities to automate or streamline accounting processes and reduce manual work.

Participate in ERP enhancements, reporting improvements, and other finance transformation initiatives.

Serve as a key resource to senior finance leadership on special projects and strategic initiatives.
