has over 40 years of experience in the design and installation of integrated technology services including Structured Cabling, Security Management Systems, Audio Visual Systems, and Wireless Systems throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada. We are currently seeking a highly organized Controller for our Sacramento, California office with oversight of our Reno, NV office. Position Overview The Controller is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate accounting records, timely financial reporting, strong internal controls and compliance with construction industry requirements. This position oversees the accounting function and works closely with company leadership, project managers, operations and our outside CPA to provide meaningful financial information that supports business decisions. The ideal candidate has strong construction accounting experience, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while continuously improving accounting processes and reporting. Responsibilities
  • Oversee the company's day-to-day accounting operations
  • Manage the monthly accounting close process and prepare financial statements
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable departments
  • Review vendor pricing, payment terms and outstanding balances to optimize cash flow
  • Monitor project job costs with Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports for company leadership
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate project financial information
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting
  • Coordinate year-end financial reporting and support external CPA and audit requests
  • Prepare financial information required by bonding companies, insurance carriers and other third parties
  • Develop and improve accounting procedures, reporting and internal controls
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process improvements
  • Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned Preferred Skills
  • Five or more years of accounting experience, preferably in commercial construction
  • Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accountant
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting and job costing
  • Experience with Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and revenue recognition
  • Experience with Viewpoint Vista or similar construction ERP software preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience improving accounting processes and internal controls
Pay:
$100,000.00
