DOE NOW CFO
is seeking an experienced Controller Consultant to join our Sacramento team. This is a hands-on role for an accounting leader who can quickly step into client environments, strengthen financial operations, and provide Controller-level leadership. Construction accounting experience is required , with strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, project accounting, and revenue recognition. Experience across additional industries is highly valued. What You'll Do Serve as a Controller-level resource for multiple clients Lead month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger activities Manage construction accounting, including job costing, WIP, project profitability, and revenue recognition Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial analysis Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting Partner directly with owners, executives, and operational leaders Support ERP implementations and system/process improvements Stay hands-on in the accounting while providing strategic financial guidance What We're Looking For Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar leadership experience Construction accounting experience required Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, project accounting, and revenue recognition Strong GAAP and full-cycle accounting knowledge Experience across multiple industries preferred Hands-on, adaptable leadership style Strong communication and problem-solving skills CPA and/or public accounting experience is a plus ERP implementation experience is highly valued Location Must live within reasonable commuting distance of Sacramento, CA and be comfortable traveling to client locations as needed.
