Job Purpose/Summary :

The Controller is TMB's senior global finance and accounting leader, overseeing financial reporting, cash and banking, budgeting, tax compliance, and internal controls across the company's US, UK, Canadian and EU entities. The role combines hands-on accounting work with advising the CEO on financial performance and decisions and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Controller performs a wide range of duties, including: Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, and prepare consolidated financial statements and management reporting packages (P&L, balance sheet, KPI dashboards, margin analysis) for the US, UK, and EU entities. Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and payment processing, including wires, ACH, and check deposits, with strong control over cash handling. Manage TMB's Accounting Team - Direct reports are UK/EU Accounting Manager, US A/R and A/P Lead the annual budget and periodic forecasting process and analyze financial performance to provide recommendations that improve results. Manage sales tax, VAT, payroll tax, and other regulatory filings across all jurisdictions (US, Canada, UK, and EU), and maintain business licenses and required government filings. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll journal entries, inventory accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations. Develop and maintain internal controls and corporate SOPs, and coordinate external financial and tax audits, including intercompany and transfer pricing documentation. Maintain the company's accounting and reporting systems and drive continuous improvement of financial processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, including 2+ years as a Controller or Assistant Controller. Strong understanding of US GAAP, multi-entity consolidations, and multi-jurisdictional tax and compliance (US, Canada, UK/EU). Proficiency with ERP and financial reporting systems (SBT or a comparable system; F9 a plus) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Key Competencies Extreme attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, audit-ready financials. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines under pressure. A proactive, hands-on approach with a drive to improve and automate financial processes. Physical Requirements This is a standard office role involving extended periods of sitting, computer and keyboard use, and phone and video communication, with occasional standing, walking, and lifting of up to 25 lbs. Preferred Skills Experience with Sage or a comparable ERP system in a manufacturing or distribution environment, including inventory costing, valuation, and reserves. Working knowledge of UK and EU VAT, transfer pricing, and intercompany accounting. Experience with import duty and customs accounting.
