General Engineering Contractor BBSI is partnering with a long-established General Engineering Contractor to identify an experienced Controller who knows construction accounting and understands what it takes to keep projects, financials and operations moving in the right direction. We're looking for a hands-on construction accounting professional who can own the numbers, work directly with leadership and become a trusted part of the organization for years to come. The Controller will have the opportunity to become a trusted right hand to the owner, serving as a strategic advisor and helping leadership make informed financial and operational decisions as the company continues to grow.   • Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements
  • Manage WIP reporting, job costing and project financial reporting
  • Oversee AP, AR, general ledger and account reconciliations
  • Coordinate quarterly financials, year-end close and tax preparation with the company's CPA
  • Support and oversee certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements
  • Work directly with banking, bonding and insurance partners
  • Coordinate insurance renewals and audits
  • Assist with Workers' Compensation, Auto and General Liability claims
  • Support 401(k) annual filings and audits
  • Manage contractor registrations, certifications and renewals
  • Complete customer and contractor pre-qualifications
  • Maintain strong internal accounting controls and GAAP compliance
  • Provide financial reporting, analysis and recommendations to company leadership
  • Support and oversee accounting and administrative personnel What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience as a Controller or accounting Manager
  • Strong construction accounting experience required
  • Foundation Software experience required
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation
  • Experience with WIP reporting and job costing
  • Knowledge of certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to manage a team, multiple priorities and deadlines Compensation & Benefits
