Incentive Compensation Summary:

We are seeking a strategic, high-caliber Controller to lead the finance function transformation, buildout, and development of the accounting and controlling team at our San Marcos, CA facility. In this role, you will work on-site to own the future of accounting and controllership as we scale up the business. You will directly drive the team's capabilities for quality and timely decision-making by ensuring accurate financial results accompanied by sound internal controls, all while partnering closely with leadership to maximize site profit and cash flow.
Leadership & Core Responsibilities Accounting Leadership & Financial Operations Financial Oversight & Reporting:
Oversee the monthly accounting close process, standard costing, revenue recognition, inventory valuation, fixed assets, payroll, and accurate financial statement reporting to Corporate in accordance with US GAAP.
System & Process Optimization:
Develop accounting processes, systems, policies, rollout, and documentation—including ASC606—and establish tight controls over WIP and open work orders.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to standard accounting principles, company policies, internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley, and government contract compliance.
Team Mentorship & Growth:
Coach and grow the finance team, instilling a high accountability/ownership mindset and driving best practices through standardized work.
Strategic Business Partnering & Analytics Operational & Commercial Insight:
Partner with Business Unit leadership, General Managers, and Operations to analyze financial drivers, evaluate New Business Opportunities, and support customer quoting and investment decisions.
Forecasting & Analytics:
Develop and execute a new analytics and metrics-based forecasting tool and process to enable real-time, fact-based decision-making.
Strategic Growth & Due Diligence:
Support cost/headcount controls, value drivers, productivity/continuous improvement, and drive financial due diligence and integration for new acquisitions.
Position Requirements Education & Technical Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience with a background of closing books accurately with minimal or no audit adjustments.
Industry Domain:
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
Leadership Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience leading teams and managing people.
Certifications & Competencies Certifications:
CPA or CMA preferred; Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) working knowledge is a plus.
Systems Proficiency:
Google Workspace, ADP, and
EPICOR ERP.
Core Competencies:
Strong analytical, intellectual rigor, problem-solving, and communication skills; experience operating in a high-accountability/metrics-driven environment.
Compensation, Benefits & Legal Total Rewards & Compensation Base Salary Range:
$120,000 - $170,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
Incentive Compensation:
AIP target 15%.
