Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of multiple construction companies. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly. This position works closely with the CFO and leadership team and plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial reporting, cash flow management, and strong internal controls. Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, job cost accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger. Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Manage daily cash flow, including forecasting cash needs, monitoring liquidity, and ensuring obligations are met. Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and balance sheet accounts. Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff. Support implementation and continuous improvement of accounting systems and technology. Identify process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy throughout the accounting department. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.Required:
5+ years of experience in a construction accounting management, Accounting Manager, or Controller role. Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, payroll, WIP schedules, and cash flow management. Experience managing multiple companies or entities is highly preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required. Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise or QuickBooks Online preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
