We are looking for a Controller to support healthcare finance operations in the greater Hartford area. This is a Contract position focused on maintaining accurate financial records, producing timely reporting, and strengthening the month-end close process. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability and hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

Lead the monthly close cycle by coordinating deadlines, reviewing balances, and ensuring financial data is finalized on schedule. Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation to maintain accurate general ledger activity. Perform detailed account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding issues promptly. Produce recurring and ad hoc financial reports that support operational and leadership decision-making. Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide clear explanations to stakeholders. Maintain accuracy and consistency across financial records while supporting compliance with healthcare accounting standards. Partner with internal teams to gather information needed for reporting, close activities, and financial review processes. Experience serving in a Controller or senior-level accounting leadership role, preferably within healthcare. Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger accounting. Demonstrated ability to prepare journal entries and complete account reconciliations accurately. Experience developing financial reports and delivering meaningful financial analysis. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls. High attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet-based analysis tools.
