Position Summary Yarde Metals is seeking an experienced Controller to join our corporate office in Southington, CT. This role is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day leadership of all accounting and financial operations, including general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and credit/collections. The Controller ensures financial integrity through accurate reporting, effective internal controls, and compliance with all regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, A/R, A/P, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting Lead daily financial operations and ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all processes Produce timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for leadership and the parent company Manage and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements Direct month-end close activities, including reconciliations, allocations, and reporting Develop and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business decisions related to sales, operations, and expenses Partner with executive leadership in sales, operations, and purchasing to evaluate performance and drive business outcomes Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and systems Collaborate with IT to optimize ERP systems and resolve system-related issues Lead audit preparation and support internal and external audit processes Oversee lease accounting and compliance for real property and equipment leases Support capital expenditure (CapEx) planning and financial analysis Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations Recruit, develop, and lead accounting staff, including performance management and coaching Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience as an accounting lead, manager, or controller. Experience in manufacturing or metals service industry. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Advanced Excel and quantitative analysis skills. High attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities. Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills.
