Date Posted 6/1/2026 Job Title Assistant Controller Job Description Our premier private country club searching for a team member to join our accounting department. This position is part of our Chief Financial Officer succession plan so we are looking for a long-term individual who wants to grow with us. The Assistant Controller would maintain daily accounting functions, including but not limited to members' payments and account adjustments, daily processing of point of sale transactions, accounts payable, journal entries, monthly account reconciliation, replacement reserves and assist with annual budgeting and audit.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, sales and use tax accounts, inventories, capital reserves and working capital accounts, and fixed assets. Responsible for analyzing GL accounts and processes corresponding adjusting and/or reconciling journal entries. Reconciles projects activity and capitalizes completed CIP and/or work-in-progress accounts. Maintains up-to-date the Capital Reserves Study schedules. Process monthly payment charges for members thru Automatics ACH Payment and Credit Cards. Ensure purchase cards are paid on a timely basis and all backup has been approved and coded. Process biweekly payroll upload including reconciliation of health insurance bill and 401K upload. Manages the timely preparation and analysis of monthly reporting package and financial statements. Supports CFO with the preparation and development of annual budgets. Supports CFO with the preparation and development of other ad-hoc reporting. Communicate and engage with Department Heads in a professional manner, as conducted, to achieve operational goals of the department. Serve as functional backup to Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable/Billing functions. Regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as required. Candidate Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to interact and communicate at times with senior management, department heads, members, and professional services providers. Customer service and team-oriented mindset. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge Jonas Club Management a plus. Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree (BS) or equivalent; and 3 years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
