Job Description
We are looking for an Assistant Controller to guide core financial operations for our organization in Northern West Palm Beach, Florida. This position plays a central role in maintaining accurate records across the company and its subsidiaries, strengthening internal controls, and supporting reliable financial reporting. The individual in this role will lead the accounting team, coordinate close activities, and partner with business leaders on financial analysis and compliance matters.
Responsibilities:
- Direct daily accounting functions across the general ledger and related workflows to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Lead monthly and annual close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and results are properly reviewed.
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules in alignment with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements.
- Approve journal entries and reconciliations while monitoring account activity for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Provide financial insight and responsive support to leadership on profit and loss performance, balance sheet items, and special analyses.
- Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal control practices designed to reduce risk and promote compliance.
- Partner with external auditors and assist with tax reporting and other statutory or regulatory filing needs.
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts by contributing financial data, evaluating variances, and explaining operating results.
- Coach, develop, and oversee accounting staff by assigning work, reviewing output, and managing performance expectations.
- Contribute to accounting system implementation efforts through design input, testing participation, rollout support, and occasional travel as needed.
