Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller with a strong accounting foundation and a passion for financial analysis and accuracy. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who brings at least five years of hands-on accounting experience and is ready to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, perform variance and balance sheet analysis, and provide support to the Controller through both technical accounting expertise and limited supervisory leadership. Experience as a Senior Accountant with prior supervisory exposure is strongly welcomed, as this position plays a key role in supporting financial operations in a fast-paced and growing environment. Roles & Responsibilities Supervise and support staff in Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Human Resources (HR), providing ongoing training, guidance, and performance feedback to foster professional development. Lead the month-end close process, including the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, as well as key account reconciliations. Prepare and review journal entries and supporting schedules to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Review general ledger activity for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification of transactions. Monitor budget performance and analyze material variances, providing actionable insights and recommendations. Support the annual budgeting process and contribute to monthly forecasting and financial planning activities. Provide ongoing support to the Corporate Controller across various accounting functions, special projects, and process improvement initiatives. Develop, document, and maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures in alignment with GAAP and company standards. Prepare audit documentation and assist in reviewing work papers to ensure internal and external audit readiness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams by delivering accurate financial data and analysis to support strategic decision-making. Oversee vendor and customer account reconciliations, resolving complex or escalated issues as needed. Generate internal financial reports and analysis, including sales performance reports, cash flow forecasts, and budget-to-actual variance reports. Qualifications A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting required Corporate Accounting experience preferred Strong understanding of AP/AR processes and general accounting principles. 2-3 years of Supervisory experience. Strong attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills required and familiarity with data queries. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with other members in the team. Ability to pass a background and credit check Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
