in-office Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance with construction industry experience who thrives in a hands-on leadership role. This individual will oversee the accounting and finance function, provide strategic financial guidance, improve internal processes, and partner with ownership and leadership to drive accurate reporting, forward-looking planning, and sound business decisions. Key Responsibilities Lead all accounting and finance operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, cash flow and treasury management, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue recognition. Partner with ownership and operations on strategic planning, capital allocation, job costing, Work in Process (WIP), profitability analysis, and overall financial performance. Enhance accounting and finance processes, internal controls, and ensure compliance with tax, licensing, bonding, and financial reporting requirements. Serve as the primary financial contact for banking partners, bonding/surety companies, auditors, insurance, and external advisors. Build, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team while providing hands-on leadership and strategic guidance to the executive team. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field with at least 10 years of construction or project-based accounting/finance experience. Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, revenue recognition (percentage-of-completion), forecasting, month-end close, and financial reporting; CPA and/or MBA preferred. Proven leadership experience managing accounting/finance teams in a fast-paced, growth environment. Advanced Microsoft Excel and construction accounting software proficiency (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or Foundation) with strong analytical and strategic skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, business-partner leadership approach.
