Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This newly created role offers an exciting opportunity to lead financial operations, provide strategic insights, and work closely with clients to deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise and leadership skills to oversee complex financial matters and contribute to the organization's growth. Due to the nature of the work and onsite requirements, preference will be given to Hawaii residents. Applicants should be able to reliably commute or reside within the region to meet business needs. Responsibilities:
  • Lead regular client meetings to discuss ongoing projects and address outstanding issues.
  • Conduct thorough technical accounting research and document findings for future reference.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of complex financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Apply advanced accounting principles to resolve intricate financial challenges and provide solutions.
  • Coordinate departmental activities and keep leadership informed on key developments.
  • Plan and manage projects, obtaining necessary leadership approvals prior to initiation.
  • Train and mentor staff, review their work, and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance.
  • Deliver insightful business advisory services and make value-driven recommendations to clients.
  • Prepare and analyze internal financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, and management packages.
  • Maintain and update client procedure manuals to ensure up-to-date and efficient processes.
