On-Site Compensation:

$105,000 - $115,000 base + bonus

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are a small private equity company headquartered in Downers Grove, IL. We are seeking a hands-on Controller to own the full accounting function across two portfolio companies. This is a working controller role - the right candidate will be equally comfortable closing the books and rolling up their sleeves on day-to-day transactions as they are producing clean financials for our management team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a small-company environment and takes pride in owning the numbers end-to-end.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Month-End Close & Reporting Manage and execute the full month-end close process for both portfolio companies Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) Maintain and reconcile all balance sheet accounts Day-to-Day Accounting Oversee AR/AP clerk Manage daily cash Code and record transactions across both entities Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns Assist with annual budget preparation Prepare info necessary for annual commercial insurance renewals Coordinate with external accountants on year-end 1099 preparation

QUALIFICATIONS

Required 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Proven experience owning a full month-end close process Comfortable performing both high-level and transactional accounting work Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar) Proficient in Microsoft Excel Preferred CPA or CPA candidate Prior experience in a small or owner-operated business where wearing multiple hats was the norm
