E.J. Basler Co. is seeking an experienced Controller to direct the financial affairs of the organization and provide accurate financial reporting and analysis to guide management. This position leads accounting operations, evaluates profitability and performance against budget, maintains strong financial controls, and supports the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the company. What You'll Do Direct the financial affairs of the organization and prepare financial analyses of operations, including interim and financial statements with supporting schedules. Analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information to measure profitability, performance against budget, and overall financial and operating effectiveness. Maintain the company's accounting records for all transactions in Epicor and maintain fixed-asset records in SAGE, including depreciation for capitalized items. Prepare monthly consolidated financial reports, including the balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and cash-flow statement. Lead preparation of the annual budget, periodic forecasts, planning and control procedures, cost-accounting reporting, and variance analysis. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other taxes. Maintain appropriate insurance coverage to protect the company against property losses and potential liabilities. Maintain effective banking relationships and manage short-term borrowing and cash-management activities. Recommend and implement company-wide cost-reduction programs. Manage employees engaged in financial activities through subordinate supervisors, including hiring, training, policy enforcement, performance standards, and employee evaluation. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA is a plus. At least 10 years of Controller experience in a manufacturing environment, including staff management and an emphasis on accurate reporting and variance analysis. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and other analytical tools. Demonstrated leadership as part of a cross-functional management team. Proven ability to manage, train, and develop staff. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group settings. Sound planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, banks, insurers, tax authorities, and other external parties. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment; Epicor experience is a plus but not required. Organized, flexible, adaptable, and effective in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Office environment with extended periods of sitting, reading, writing, communicating, and operating office equipment. Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above the shoulder, and movement through the manufacturing facility. $100,000-$150,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, manufacturing accounting background, and overall fit for the role.
