full-time Controller Manufacturing & Distribution The Opportunity The Overture Group is partnering with a growing manufacturing and distribution company to identify a hands-on Controller. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this leader will oversee accounting, ensure accurate and timely reporting, strengthen controls, and provide insight that supports better decisions. This role is well suited for an operationally minded leader who enjoys improving processes, developing teams, and partnering across operations, supply chain, sales, IT, and senior leadership. What You'll Do Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close; deliver timely, accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements; and maintain the integrity of the general ledger and accounting records. Strengthen accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, reconciliations, and transactional processes. Coordinate the annual audit and support tax and regulatory reporting in partnership with outside advisors. Oversee inventory and cost accounting, including standard costs, manufacturing variances, reserves, cycle counts, physical inventories, and landed costs. Partner with operations to improve bills of materials, routings, work orders, labor reporting, product costing, and inventory accuracy. Improve discipline and efficiency across accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit, collections, payroll, and cash management. Serve as a finance leader in the continued optimization of Epicor ERP and related business systems, improving data integrity and process consistency. Develop dashboards, KPIs, and profitability reporting that provide greater visibility into customers, products, channels, and operations. Support budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, pricing, capital investment, and make-versus-buy decisions. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while building a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred. Approximately 8-15 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibility. Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, or comparable senior accounting leadership experience. Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or other product-based business. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, inventory, and cost accounting. Experience with manufacturing ERP systems; Epicor experience is highly desirable. Advanced Excel and management-reporting capabilities, with the ability to translate financial data into practical business insight.
