full-time Controller MEPX is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations while serving as a key financial partner to the President and operational leadership. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who understands the financial side of construction and project-based businesses , particularly job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, forecasting, and project financial controls . The Controller will own the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while helping operational leaders understand what the numbers mean, where risks are developing, and where the business has opportunities to improve performance. What You'll Lead Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close Financial statements, management reporting, and general-ledger integrity Construction job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, and cost-to-complete reporting Project forecasting, margin analysis, change orders, billing, retainage, and collection-risk reporting Annual budgeting and budget-to-actual analysis AP, AR, cash reporting, inventory accounting, and fixed assets Internal controls, accounting policies, audit coordination, and financial compliance Financial systems and process-improvement initiatives Accounting team leadership and development Financial oversight and coordination related to payroll, benefits, and labor-cost reporting What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting required 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience Previous accounting leadership experience Strong command of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls Experience with construction accounting, job costing, and WIP strongly preferred Experience in construction, service, manufacturing, or another project-based business environment preferred Strong ERP and financial-systems experience ERP implementation or migration experience preferred CPA or advanced degree preferred The Right Fit We're looking for more than someone who can close the books. The right Controller can dig into WIP, understand what is happening at the project level, identify margin or cash-flow risks early, and communicate financial information in a way that helps operational leaders make better decisions. You'll work closely with the President and business leaders while providing the financial discipline, reporting, and controls needed to support a growing operation.
