Accounting Full Job Description Job Overview:
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, including month end close, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role manages the accounting team, supports strategic financial planning, and provides insights to drive business performance and cost savings. The Financial Controller reports to the CFO. Responsibilities Work closely with the leadership team to support business growth and company long-term objectives. Manage and mentor the accounting team (Staff Accountant, A/R, A/P) on a daily basis. Ensure financial integrity of the company by developing and maintaining accounting policies. Recommend and implement process improvements that drive efficiency in the accounting department. Project based work that includes data analysis in the ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics - Business Central. Manage the month-end financial closing in compliance with US GAAP. Understand the legal entity structure and reporting of multiple companies. Act as liaison with banking and insurance partners. Prepare monthly financial statements and provide business analysis. Work directly with the public accounting firm to support financial statement reviews and tax planning. Assist with treasury management, daily cash tracking, and forecasting. Assist with commercial and credit insurance administration. Review balance sheet account reconciliations monthly. Ad hoc tasks assigned by the CFO. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (4-year College/University Degree). Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or experience as a Controller for 7 to 10 years. Strong understanding and application of US GAAP. Strong IT acumen and willing to become subject matter expert in the ERP system. Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (i.e. Excel, Outlook). Team oriented mindset. Strong communication skills. Ability to work in an office environment (not remote).
