Job Description
Controller LaPorte, IN 100% Onsite A well-established manufacturing company in LaPorte is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to provide leadership to its accounting function. This is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, managing daily accounting operations, supporting the accounting team, and delivering timely financial reporting to leadership. Key Responsibilities (Estimated percentage of time) 30% – Financial Reporting & Month-End Close Lead the monthly close process and ensure accurate financial statements. Target a 5-day close (allowing up to 10 days during onboarding). Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules. 25% – Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare financial reports and analyses for executive leadership and banking relationships. Develop and maintain Excel reports using data from Microsoft Navision and other systems. Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions. 20% – Cash Management & Financial Oversight Monitor daily cash activity and cash flow. Oversee the AP payment process and cash disbursements. Track and allocate tariff-related funds. Support banking activities and maintain strong financial controls. 15% – Accounting Team Leadership Oversee daily accounting operations. Provide guidance and support to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team. Resolve accounting issues and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. 10% – Forecasting & Operational Reporting Prepare daily sales forecast reports. Review payroll reports for accuracy before processing. Partner with leadership to provide financial reporting and operational insights. Qualifications Required Previous Controller or Assistant Controller experience. Proven ability to lead the month-end close process. Strong ERP experience, preferably Microsoft Navision . Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including building reports from multiple data sources. Experience overseeing accounting operations, including AP and AR. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Manufacturing industry experience. Cash management and banking experience. #
