full-time 3 plus years of experience as a Plant Controller Venteon Finance is currently seeking a Plant Controller for a leading manufacturing company located in North Vernon, IN. This position manages the financial record keeping, reporting, tax filing, and other accounting functions for the organization. Ensuring the accounting policies and practices of the organization are followed; working closely with internal auditors, public accountants, federal tax examiners, and other financial professionals; ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization Requirements of the Plant Controller Bachelor's degree in an Accounting, Finance, or related field Advanced degree and or accounting certifications preferred 5+ years progressive leadership experience Knowledgeable in manufacturing, business, accounting and finance concepts, hardware, operating systems, Microsoft Office, HFM, Plex, Oracle and other ERP Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Responsibilities of the Plant Controller Coordinate and administer an adequate plan for the financial control of the facility. This includes a plan that provides profit planning, sales forecasts, expense budgets, accounts receivable, cost standards and saving opportunities, and capital investing. Compare performance against budget and operating plan and standards. Provide reports and interprets results to plant manager and group controller. Conduct special projects, cost studies, analyses and new business evaluations. Provides statistics, reports and recommendations resulting in cost reductions and profit improvements. Recommend, implements, and maintains compliance with all accounting policies and internal controls. Responsible for the preparation of all accounting ledgers, plant reports, corporate reports, other financial reports, and related supporting detail or sub-ledger files and reports. Responsible for accurate accounting classification of all expenditures, including capital and other transactions to ensure that balance sheet and income statement accounts are accurate. Responsible for reviewing inventory control and reporting procedures to ensure that inventory records and manufacturing cost are accurate.
