Job Description

Plyco Corporation is actively hiring an Assistant Controller to support continued operational growth and strengthen the company's accounting and financial reporting functions. This is a hands-on, high-visibility accounting role with responsibility across month-end close, general ledger activities, financial reporting, inventory, cost accounting, budgeting, and operational analysis . The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation along with manufacturing cost accounting experience and will work closely with operations, logistics, leadership, and finance to improve accuracy, reporting, and business performance. coverage 401(k) with company match PTO, vacation, and paid holidays Stable company with strong leadership and long-term growth Collaborative, team-oriented environment High-impact role with visibility across leadership and operations Opportunity to improve accounting systems, reporting, and processes What You'll Do Support and lead key aspects of the month-end close process Prepare and review financial reports, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring proper accounting treatment Analyze production variances, material costs, labor costs, overhead, and cost trends Monitor inventory accuracy and support cycle count and inventory reconciliation processes Maintain and review Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, standard costs, and item master data Ensure accurate tracking of material, labor, inventory, and manufacturing costs Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Assist with fixed asset accounting and reconciliations Partner with operations, logistics, and finance teams to identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities Support pricing analysis and communicate cost drivers and financial trends to leadership Participate in operational meetings and provide financial insight to support business decisions Help improve financial reporting, costing accuracy, internal processes, and system efficiencies Provide additional accounting and Controller support as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment Manufacturing cost accounting experience strongly preferred Experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting Experience with inventory, standard costing, BOMs, and variance analysis Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills Experience working within ERP systems preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to communicate effectively and work across finance, operations, and leadership teams Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities Why This Role Stands Out Broader accounting responsibility than a traditional Cost Accountant position Opportunity to develop toward increased Controller-level responsibilities High visibility with leadership and operational teams Direct impact on financial reporting, manufacturing performance, and business decisions Opportunity to improve accounting processes, reporting, and system efficiencies Stable and growing manufacturing organization Long-term career growth potential
