Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Controller to oversee the financial operations of our retail power sports shop. This role is vital in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the business. The Controller will work closely with management to develop financial strategies that promote growth and operational efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for the retail power sports industry. Responsibilities Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets to provide insights into business performance. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and standards. Oversee internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely completion of audit processes. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency. Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and oversee treasury functions. Collaborate with management to develop financial forecasts and strategic plans aligned with business goals. Stay informed about industry trends affecting retail power sports businesses to advise on financial implications. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. Proven experience as a Controller or in a senior finance role within retail or similar industries. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a finance team effectively. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with industry-specific tools is a plus. Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication skills to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities within the retail power sports sector.
