Controller - Beacon Mechanical Services Canton, MA | On-Site | Full-Time About Beacon Mechanical Services Beacon Mechanical Services is a rapidly growing mechanical services organization headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts, serving commercial and residential customers throughout Greater Boston and the South Shore. Our capabilities span plumbing, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, process piping, water systems, generators, compressors, drain services, and specialty infrastructure projects. We're building the next generation of mechanical services in New England by combining exceptional people, operational excellence, technology, and strategic acquisitions to create a scalable, best-in-class organization. The Opportunity Beacon is seeking an experienced Controller to serve as the company's senior financial leader and help build the financial infrastructure required to support our continued growth. Reporting directly to the President/Ownership, the Controller will own the company's financial operations and lead the development of reporting, forecasting, budgeting, controls, job costing, and financial systems across a growing multi-entity organization. This is a hands-on, build-and-lead opportunity for someone who wants to have a meaningful impact on a rapidly growing company. Key Responsibilities Lead the monthly close and develop clear, timely management reporting for ownership Build and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow planning Implement and oversee job costing, work-in-progress (WIP), and percentage-of-completion reporting Strengthen internal financial controls, policies, processes, and systems Develop KPIs, dashboards, and business intelligence to support operating decisions Partner with operational leadership across multiple service lines Support M&A activity - including financial diligence and integration of acquired businesses Help build a scalable finance and accounting organization capable of supporting continued expansion Ideal Background CPA and/or bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Progressive accounting and financial leadership experience Experience in construction, mechanical services, skilled trades, or another project-based industry strongly preferred Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion accounting Experience building or improving finance functions in a high-growth environment Experience with multi-entity organizations preferred M&A and/or private-equity-backed company experience is a plus Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on in the details What Success Looks Like The successful Controller will create a finance organization where leadership has timely, trusted financial information, the company operates against meaningful budgets and forecasts, acquisitions are integrated effectively, and finance becomes an active driver of business decisions.
