Job Description
Robert Half Controller Haverhill, MA Apply Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization in Haverhill, Massachusetts. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can ensure accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective budgeting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, paired with excellent analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, tracking all transactions within the organization.
- Oversee the general ledger by recording accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and other journal entries.
- Verify and document daily bank and credit card transactions to ensure financial accuracy.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements, budgets, tax returns, and reports for regulatory agencies on a monthly basis.
- Manage fixed asset schedules and maintain detailed records for all financial accounts.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Conduct internal audits to monitor financial health and facilitate external audits by compiling necessary documentation and reports.
- Prepare and file tax submissions, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Analyze financial data, including sales, expenses, and profit margins, to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop quarterly and annual budgets, monitor performance, and make adjustments as needed. Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial software.
- Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and financial reporting.
- Experience in preparing tax filings and managing compliance with regulations.
- Proven ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teams and senior leadership.
- Familiarity with creating and updating accounting policies and systems.
