Jobs › Lakeville, MA › Controller Robert Half Controller Lakeville, MA Apply Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead a high-performing accounting team at a stable & growing organization. This senior-level role will oversee management of all accounting & finance staff, supporting month-end close, core financial reporting, compliance, and close activities while partnering with leadership to provide clear insight into business performance. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, process improvement expertise, and strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the day-to-day leadership of the accounting team, including the Assistant Controller and payroll and benefits staff, while supporting hiring, coaching, performance development, and team effectiveness.
• Oversee the monthly and annual close process, ensuring revenue, labor, freight, graphics, and other costs are recorded accurately in the proper reporting period.
• Prepare and manage monthly financial statements, quarterly compliance reporting, management discussion materials, annual audit support, and lender-related calculations and certifications.
• Maintain responsibility for complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, purchase accounting, and tax-related cash-to-accrual adjustments.
• Build and strengthen an internal controls framework, including approval authority standards for disbursements, payroll updates, and journal entries, with clear separation of duties across financial processes.
• Monitor covenant reporting and excess cash flow calculations to provide reliable visibility to investors, board members, and lending partners.
• Partner with executive leadership as a confident presenter who can explain financial results, risks, and business trends to senior stakeholders.
• Align accounting outputs across interim reporting and audited financial statements to ensure consistency, accuracy, and transparency.
• Support financial operations across union and non-union payroll environments while maintaining a disciplined accrual structure and strong general ledger integrity.
