Finance Operations Location:
Busek Co., Inc. (Natick, MA - Onsite) About Us Busek is seeking a dynamic Financial Controller to lead and support our finance operations. In this pivotal role, you will partner closely with internal business groups to develop scalable financial processes, oversee reporting, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and ERP system enhancements. This role operates in a hybrid commercial and government contracting environment, requiring strong fundamentals in cost accounting, financial controls, and an understanding of indirect cost structures. Experience with Epicor ERP systems is highly desirable, and familiarity with Deltek is a plus. Key Responsibilities Support internal business groups by providing financial insights and operational guidance Develop and maintain scalable financial processes to enhance business operations Lead all core accounting functions including GL, month-end close, AP/AR, and payroll Prepare financial forecasts, corporate financial statements, and variance analyses Oversee budgeting and financial planning activities across departments Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements Coordinate audits and support audit readiness efforts Oversee the preparation and issuance of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Lead ERP implementations, upgrades, and process improvements (Epicor) Develop, monitor, and refine indirect cost structures (e.g., overhead, G&A, fringe) and support forecasting efforts Contribute to financial compliance in a government contracting environment , including cost accounting practices and reporting requirements Partner cross-functionally with program management, legal, and operations to ensure accurate project financials Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (CPA preferred) Progressive experience in finance/accounting with increasing responsibility Proven track record in building and maturing financial processes and systems , particularly in smaller or growing organizations Strong understanding of cost accounting and project-based accounting Experience working in environments with indirect cost structures and rate-based financial management Exposure to government contracting requirements (e.g., audits, compliance, or reporting frameworks) is preferred Experience with ERP systems (Epicor strongly preferred; Deltek a plus) Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills Strong attention to detail and a customer-focused mindset Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects independently Required to be onsite daily U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required What Will Set You Apart Experience supporting or interacting with government audit or compliance functions Familiarity with financial reporting requirements tied to regulated or contract-driven environments Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for technical and operational teams Benefits Performance bonuses 401(k) retirement plan Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage Paid vacation, sick days, and holidays Education assistance programs ITAR Compliance To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), employment at Busek requires that applicants be one of the following: A U.S. citizen A lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder) A refugee or an individual granted asylum in the U.S. Or eligible to receive the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable For more information about ITAR regulations, please visit the DDTC Public Portal.
