R.C. Moore, Inc., a leading 3PL company involved in Trucking, Warehousing and Brokerage, is seeking a full-time Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team at our Portland, ME location. Established in 1956, we became 100% employee-owned (ESOP)in 2022. We provide a national third-party logistics network to support our various food and beverage providers, and we are passionate about delivering exceptional, timely service to all customers.

Job Overview:

R.C. Moore, Inc. is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to help lead our accounting operations and support the financial success of R.C. Moore, Inc. and its subsidiary, North Star Transport Group. This role is responsible for overseeing daily accounting functions, supervising accounting staff, managing month-end close activities, supporting audits, maintaining internal controls, and assisting with financial reporting and cash management.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and support Accounting/Accounts Payable Specialists Assist with monthly financial close and account reconciliations Prepare financial reports and borrowing base certificates Support annual audits and regulatory compliance Monitor cash activity, accounts receivable, and revenue accruals Maintain accounting controls and improve processes Analyze financial data and identify opportunities for operational improvement Manage accounting-related issues within company software systems

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience 2+ years of management or supervisory experience Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills Close attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
