Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to join the leadership team at our manufacturing facility in Harper Woods, Michigan. In this role, you will serve as a strategic finance partner to plant leadership, providing insight that supports operational performance, cost control, and sound business decisions. The position is well suited for someone who is comfortable balancing hands-on financial oversight with active involvement in day-to-day plant activity. You will also help strengthen financial discipline across the operation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the plant's financial activities, ensuring accurate oversight of operational results and reinforcing accountability across the local leadership team.
- Develop annual operating budgets and recurring forecasts, then evaluate performance against actual results to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Produce and review daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for plant, senior, and executive leadership audiences.
- Maintain key performance dashboards and contribute financial insight during management review meetings and operational discussions.
- Provide support across core transactional areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and purchasing processes.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop finance or administrative team members to build capability and support strong performance.
- Partner with materials and operations teams to monitor inventory accuracy, support cycle counts, and assist with physical inventory activities.
- Assess the financial impact of engineering or production changes, support continuous improvement initiatives, and review plant spending to promote responsible cost management.
