This role will focus on maintaining core accounting operations, supporting financial statement preparation, and assisting with month-end close activities. This is a hands-on opportunity to step in quickly and help stabilize processes while the organization finalizes a permanent CFO hire. The Fractional Controller role is an onsite position based in Sterling Heights, MI. This is an interim engagement expected to last approximately 2 months, with a flexible schedule of approximately one day per week (with potential for additional hours if needed). Fractional Controller Responsibilities Assist with month-end close processes, including accruals and financial statement preparation Review and finalize financial data prepared by the accounting team Support the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements Help maintain continuity of accounting operations during leadership transition Provide guidance and oversight on accounting processes as needed Collaborate with internal team members to ensure deadlines are met Fractional Controller Requirements Experience in a manufacturing environment required Strong background in financial statement preparation and month-end close Experience with standard costing and capital equipment accounting is a plus Ability to step in quickly and work independently with minimal oversight Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Flexibility to work a limited, part-time schedule UHY Advisors' Resource Solutions Group provides clients with accomplished professionals to support finance, accounting, internal audit and tax teams.
